Artists determine the times we live in. We associate eras of time with what has gone on in art, music, architecture and writing. Our time is no different. As a teacher, it is my responsibility to create an environment for a singer to explore his or her potential and realization of that potential to create and explore and discover. It is about teaching the student where they stand to become the artist they strive to become, not about teaching the material. This involves discovery: technically, vocally, pedagogically, theatrically, physically, emotionally and spiritually in order to integrate organically and allow a full-fledged artist to emerge.
